Thirty-nine interior and landscape designers transformed this elegant home situated on three acres of beautifully landscaped property into the 2020 Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens. Designed in 1906 by Frost and Granger, the property includes a large house and a smaller adjoining house. In 1928, the William A. P. Pullmans purchased the property and engaged architect Stanley Anderson to make extensive changes. The 23-room, 11,000 square foot house has a timeless elegance including a large living room, sun room and parlor, and a fireplace warmed family room. The master suite has two dressing rooms, a bath, a sitting room, and the bedroom, which has a fireplace and a balcony overlooking magnificent gardens.
Last month, owner Jan Bromberek, along with fellow decorator Nancy Barrett of Beautiful Rooms, LLC. , had the opportunity to tour the Show House. Here’s what Jan had to say:
“Very interesting choices of design in this home. Of course, it’s always quite over-the-top since many high end designers participate in this! I did walk away with some good ideas…love the mini-cornices over the bookcases and the butlers pantry is to die for. My absolute favorite was the gardens…so absolutely beautiful!!”
